Andrew Jackson was one of the most popular presidents of the United States. He was even elected for his democracy from electors 15 years after his death. The only thing is that how democratic was he? Some of the facts that are about to be shown will prove that Andrew Jackson wasn’t as democratic as people thought he was. Jackson didn’t really do anything that can help people. He didn’t democratically act in a lot of circumstances.
One reason is that Jackson wasn’t really paying attention to the Native Americans. He ignored the Supreme Court in the name of the Georgia’s Right to Cherokee Land. This ruling was foundational in establishing the general idea that Native Americans have some degree of sovereignty in their interaction with U.S. governments.
