My leader name is Amirul Asyraf bin Fauzi. He is 25 years old. The position work of him is Diagnostic Engineer – Substation. He works at Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). He started this position of work since two years ago. The level of management is first – line management. Lastly, the company has target which is to provide reliable electricity supply to the customers comprising of residential, commercial, and industrial categories so that they can perform their daily activities effectively.
He is first – line management which work as Diagnostic Engineer – Substation and more applied technical skills in his works. He jobs responsibilities which is functional. There are four responsibilities which he must do such as firstly is to plan and carry all diagnostic tests required according to the standard operating procedures as stated by the company, next is to analyse the diagnostic test results and provide solutions if there is any defect found, next is to ensure that every work done according to safety guidelines to prevent any accident and lastly is to coordinate diagnostic team with other units in order to solve any issue arise.
First and foremost, interpersonal management roles are grouped into three roles involving working with other people. There are have three such as figurehead , leader and liaison. Figurehead which is as a manager, you have social, ceremonial and legal responsibilities. Leader which is they provide leadership for their team, their department or perhaps their entire organization. Liaison which is managers must communicate with internal and external contacts. For example, he interpersonal roles in the organization is leader. He plans all tasks needed and coordinate his team to perform that tasks. He will explain what when every task needs to be done to his team.
Next, informational management roles which is managers must collect, disseminate and transmit information and these activities have three corresponding informational roles such as monitor, disseminator and spokesperson. Monitor which is manager regularly seek out information related to their organization and industry, looking for relevant changes in the environment. Disseminator which is communicate potentially useful information to your colleagues and your team. Spokesperson which is managers represent and speak for their organization. For example, he informational roles in the organization is monitor. He will make sure that works are done according to the correct standard operating procedures. In addition, he will ensure that the jobs are done according to safety guidelines.
Lastly, decisional managers role involved using information which is have four such as entrepreneur, disturbance handler, resource allocator ang negotiator. Entrepreneur which is create and control change within the organization. Disturbance handler is when an or team hits an unexpected roadblock, it is the manager who must take charge. Resource allocator which need to determine where organizational resources are best applied. Negotiator which may be needed to take part in and direct, important negotiations within their team, department or organization. For example, he first decisional roles in the organization is disturbance handler. If there is any defect found in the equipment, he will have to manage on solving it. He also play resource allocator role by assigning every team member on what they have to do.
Firstly, conceptual skills which is ability to process a tremendous amount of information about the internal or external environment of the organization and determine implications of that information. He practises the conceptual skill by comparing the costs of every job and choose the most reasonable one. For example, in assigning a job to either his team or contractor, he has to analyse on how urgency is the job, the quality of their previous job together with the costs it going to take.
Next, human skills which is ability to work effectively with one’s own work group as well as others within the organization. Human skills involve communication with various parties. In order to execute any task, he has to consult with higher officials for approval. Then, he will have to delegate and coordinate his team to perform the tasks.
Lastly, technical skills which is ability to utilize the knowledge of tools, techniques, and procedures that are specific to a particular field. He positions work requires ones with electrical engineering background. He apply the concepts such as Ohm’s law and Kirchhoff’s law in order to calculate and solve certain problems. Besides that, being a diagnostic engineer, he has to be familiar and competent with all tests needed to be done.
Firstly, planning which is setting goals and defining the actions necessary to achieve those goals. Planning want that managers be aware of environmental conditions that occur in the their organization and forecast future conditions. In my opinion about planning in his positions work, he plans how to do the job such as cost to buy something which is for electricity. It is because to achieve the goals of the organization.
Secondly, organizing which is the process of determining the tasks to be done, who will do them, and how those tasks will be managed and coordinated. The structure of the organization which represented by an organization chart, which provides a formal representation of the chain of command within an organization. In my opinion about organization in his positions work, he organises and decide the best of departmentalized, jobs into department to coordinate effort effectively. He also organises about resources when doing his jobs such as his use several labour to do the job when emergency or in work time.
Next, leading which is the capacity to lead the members of work groups toward the accomplishment of organizational goals. It requires to understand individual or group behaviour dynamics, the ability to motivate employees, and able to envision future and share that vision. In my opinion about organization in his positions work, he will explain how to do the work in their position to his team for achieving objectives in their company. He has good relationship between his team to provide their work.
Lastly, controlling which monitor the performance of the organization and the progress in implementing strategic and operational plans. It identifies deviations between planned and actual results. It is ensuring that the organization is moving toward the achievement of its goal. In my opinion about organization in his positions work, he controls the performance of the organization with three steps to achieve company’s objective. The three steps such as establishing performance standards, comparing actual performance against standards and taking corrective action when necessary.
