Reframing a clients perception is to view it in a bigger frame so it enables them to see the world in a broader outlook rather than how they were seeing it before. The counsellor collects the information and uses it to offer a different perception of how the client was viewing it.
For example, a client says that they cannot manage to accomplish their goals that they have set for themselves.
Counsellor’s response is have you ever achieved anything in the past? If you have what was the motivation that made you achieve your goal, how will you use that step?
It broadens the client’s perception it reduces their distress they’re experiencing.
